 1. INDIAN MYNAH: THIS IS ONE OF MANY BIRDS FOUND IN VIKAS PURI NEW DELHI INDIA, IT  IS  KNOWN AS  “LAALI” IN PUNJABI, “SALIK” IN BENGALI,” SALONKI” IN MARATHI. INDIAN MYNAH IS  ALSO POPULAR  AS   CAGE BIRDS.

 2.  BULBUL:  VIKAS PURI IS BLESSED TO HAVE THIS BEAUTY  THE SONGSTER  BULBUL, BULBUL IS ALSO  KNOWN AS “NIGHTANGLE” .BULBUL FEEDS MAINLY ON FRUITS & BERRIES AND  SOMETIMES ALSO DO CROP DAMAGE.

1.   3.SQUIRREL:  YEAH THIS  SPEEDY CREATURE IS ALSO  FOUND IN VIKAS  PURI, LET’S KNOW SOME FACTS ABOUT THE SPEEDY SQUIRRY. IT BELONGS TO RODENTS FAMILY.

SQUIRRELS ARE CONSIDERED SACRED IN HINDUISM BECAUSE OF ITS ASSOCIATION WITH LORD RAMA. AS SQUIRREL ALSO CONTRIBUTED IN BUILDING “RAM SETU”  BRIDGE, LORD RAMA BEING PLEASED BY CREATURE DEDICATION CARESSED THE SQUIRREL BACK AND SINCE THEN INDIAN SQUIRREL CARRIED WHITE STRIPES  WHICH ARE BELIEVED TO BE THE MARKS OF LORD RAMA’S FINGERS
